Hi, I’m Mohsen Fallahian

Mohsen Fallahian is an award-winning Emirati novelist, essayist, and creative writing instructor based in Abu Dhabi. Born in Dubai in 1985 to a family of Arab-Persian heritage, his work reflects a deep reverence for Emirati storytelling traditions, combined with a contemporary literary voice rooted in identity, heritage, and introspection.

A graduate of Zayed University with a BA in Creative Writing and a Master’s in Arabic Literature from UAE University in Al Ain, Mohsen began his career as a cultural journalist before transitioning into publishing and eventually becoming a full-time writer. He has authored three acclaimed books: Mirage of the Sandstorm, a contemporary novel exploring ambition and love in modern Dubai; The Silent Minaret, a historical fiction set in 19th-century Abu Dhabi; and Whispers Beneath the Palm Trees, a memoir-philosophy blending personal reflection with Gulf oral traditions.

A recipient of the Emirates Writers Award and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award (Emerging Author), Mohsen is also the host of the podcast Tales from the Gulf, where he delves into the literary currents of the region. He currently teaches creative writing at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai, mentoring a new generation of Emirati writers.

Known for his lyrical prose, thoughtful presence, and love for Arabic calligraphy and traditional coffee culture, Mohsen continues to inspire through storytelling that bridges the past and present. His work invites readers to slow down, listen, and reconnect with the stories that shape identity and belonging in the UAE and beyond.
